What do you hope to gain from attending 2022 HCD?
Overall, the experiences and new knowledge gained during the 2022 Healthcare Design Conference + Expo will inform research, teaching, and service components of my current role at Montana State University. I'm a sub-investigator in collaboration with the College of Engineering to design and develop an incubation space for novel design research and biomedical device development. Hearing from industry leaders, professional organizations, and experienced designers/clinicians will inform optimal design of the incubation space and equipment best suited for professional, researcher, and student utilization.

How do you plan to use knowledge gained from attending 2022 HCD in your day-to-day work?
I have been so inspired by each HCD I have attended, beginning in Dallas 2007. I need a boost and feel that I have so much more to contribute to the improvement of healthcare design. Years of both attending and presenting virtual conferences & webinars cannot compare to attending this interdisciplinary conference. Learning & applying the latest ideas from other disciplines is essential to me to be current & efficient in my work of design planning. Influencing designers and owners to involve clinicians in their projects is my primary goal which can only be accomplished by learning the latest information.
