Jaynelle F. Stichler is currently retired and has had a distinguished career as a founding Co-Editor Emerita of the HERD Journal, a leading source of evidence for healthcare design with over 13 years of peer-reviewed publications;  Consultant for Research for Sharp HealthCare Center of Nursing Excellence a 5 hospital system in San Diego, CA; and Professor Emerita of Nursing at San Diego State University. 

Dr. Stichler is an active principal investigator in studies focused on the effect of the healthcare environment on patient, provider and organizational outcomes.  Dr. Stichler has authored books and numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals. She is a frequent global presenter at nursing and healthcare design conferences. She is the co-editor for Nurses as Leaders in Healthcare Design: A Resource for Nurses and Interprofessional Partners.  

Dr. Stichler is also one of the co-leaders and Fellows of the Academy of Nursing in Health Design at Clemson University School of Nursing. She is also a Fellow in both the American College of Healthcare Administrators and the American Academy of Nurses. Jan mentors clinical nurses and other professionals in clinical and administrative research, evidence-based practice projects, and other disseminating new knowledge (publications & presentations).
