Jaynelle F. Stichler
holds a Doctor of Nursing
Science degree from the University of San Diego and is a
30-year veteran of the healthcare industry. Dr. Stichler is
an Associate Professor at San Diego State University in the
School of Nursing and is the Concentration Chair for Nursing
Services Administration. She has worked as a
clinician, a researcher, an educator, and an administrator
prior to becoming a faculty member at SDSU. In 1992,
she was responsible for integrating various women-related
services for a major healthcare system in to a seamless
service line across a five hospital system. This
approach became a model for many other integration
initiatives. Stichler joined the strategic planning
and architectural firm of The Stichler Group (now NTDStichler
Architects, Inc.) to head up their consulting division.
In that capacity, she provided consultation on strategic
planning, program development, and evidence based design
services to hospitals and healthcare systems. With her
own consulting company, Dr. Stichler continues to provide
strategic planning, organizational assessment and
improvement, and evidence-based design services to
healthcare systems. Her research interests focus on
the effect of the work
environment in healthcare systems on organization
performance and the human experience.
